The Reverend Tracy Jessop, the first female Rector of Fakenham Parish Church, was installed on 27 September 2022. Revd Tracy has been in Norfolk for over 20 years after moving from London. She will be very happy to talk and listen with you about all your needs, whether you are planning for an important life event, or have a worry that you need to share.
Roger has been churchwarden since 2014, and is Lay Chair of the Church Council. Roger spent his working life as a Primary School teacher in Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire, moving to Norfolk in 1972. Married to Elaine (see above) he is now retired. Apart from church his main interest is choral music. To this end he sings in the Church Choir and Fakenham Choral Society. Other interests (when he has time!) are reading, walking and pottering in the garden.
Elaine has been a Reader at Fakenham Parish Church since 1984. Although now retired she has the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate and is still active in ministry. Both she and her husband Roger are retired primary school teachers. They have two grown up sons and two grandsons. As an amateur geographer Elaine has a deep interest in the whole of creation – God’s world and his people. She enjoys travel to explore the world, seeking fresh insights through the experience. She is also a founder member of the current incarnation of Fakenham Bowmen, having taken up archery as a teenager in Shropshire long ago!
Amanda was brought up in Fakenham where she attended the High School before leaving Norfolk to train as a nurse. Amanda is married to Fred and has a daughter and twin sons and now works full time in the family farming and haulage business. As part of her work in the church she is Chaplain to the ATC. Amanda became a reader in 2009 and serves her ministry mainly in Fulmodeston.
Anne has only recently taken over the role of Safeguarding Officer. She retired, at the end of 2008, from the role of Training & Staff Development Officer for the Suffolk Safeguarding Children Board. She is still a member of the Suffolk Permanence (Adoption) Panel. Anne is a widow, mother of two grown up children and grandmother of 4. Her passions, in addition to her family and two spaniels, are hill walking, difficult in Norfolk, visiting France, and choral singing. She is a member of the church choir and is also the administrator for the Christmas Tree Festival.
