  Thought for the Week
We publish a weekly 'podcast' and written commentary on issues affecting our community, both here in Fakenham and throughout the world.
.
  Sermons: Audio and Text
'Godcasting' has become one of the most popular elements of a 'new style' of church website. We have embraced this concept on our new website and offer here our sermons in text and audio format for you to experience in the comfort of your own home.
.
  Community Blog
Our blog is our 'interactive tool' to the community. Through our online blog we will explore a range of issues and provide you with the opportunity to respond with your thoughts and comments. We hope that this will become a place where people of our community, both locally and internationally, can come and express their points of view in a safe and secure environment.
.
  Articles and Editorials
Our articles and commentaries are offered to our online visitors as a way to explore different and perhaps fresh perspectives on what happens around us on a regular basis, both in church and within our communities.
.
  Online Photo Gallery
We have a range of photographs available to view on our Online Photo Gallery. If you wish, you may purchase copies - all proceeds will go directly to supporting our work within the local community.

The Holy Trinity: When I looked at the story of the widow of Nain there is one thing that really made me think. Where is faith in this story, or rather, who has the faith? In the previous story in that gospel we have the faith of the centurion whose servant was healed by Jesus yet in today’s reading the only person who shows faith, who has any faith, is Jesus himself.

50th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood: It was a strange new world after I was ordained. I suddenly found people acknowledged me in the street, people I didn’t even know. If I travelled on a train I got a compartment to myself. Cars stopped for me on pedestrian crossings. A conductor (we had them in those days) actually helped me off a stationary bus – I was only 24!

Mothering Sunday: I was amused the other day to see a magazine front cover in the local newsagent with the title ‘Happy Mother’s Day’. It showed a Mother and a boy of about 10 with boxing gloves on looking at each other with the boy trying to aim a punch.

Jesus Knows Us: I wonder how many of you visit or help in the church on a Thursday morning. I know that quite a large number of people help in one way or another during that time. Can I give you quite a different scenario for a usual Thursday morning.

Christ the King: Today we celebrate Christ the King who reigns in glory and as Martin Luther once said, ‘This Kingship is a hidden glory veiled to those who live by the world’s values.’ Christ will only be recognised by those who know their own spiritual poverty and need, and whose minds are open to receive him in faith.

The Widow of Nain: Most priests will have had the sad task of burying a young child in their ministry. The Church will be full, whatever you say frankly has really little meaning – the feeling of pain and loss is everywhere. Grieving will go on for years – the life of the family will never be that same.

Building Faith on Good Foundations: The story of the wise man who built the house on the rock and the foolish man who built on the sand. There’s a wonderful children’s action song that we sing at Stepping Stones occasionally. It’s all about today’s Gospel reading.

Whitsunday: In your life there have probably been many occasions when you have had mixed emotions. Happiness and sadness, fear and joy, can often going together at special events in life and no doubt there are special occasions that stick out as changing your life for ever.

Sunday After Ascension: Being a Christian can be costly. I don’t mean only in monetary terms but also in our whole lives. I am sure that the role of the Church is to be the conscious of the nation and it is good at times for our Church leaders to question those in authority.

Growing in God's Love: This weekend has been a time for a family gathering as my two sons have come home for the weekend. One has just started a new job and has enjoyed the weekend away from the cut and thrust of commercial life. His brother, who likewise is very busy, was very pleased to see him.

Good Shepherding Sunday: One of the primary tasks of the clergy is to prepare and baptise children and children can range from a few weeks old to well into their teens or older. The children coming forward are a gift from God. We act a little bit like a shepherd as Jesus told us to do, and we try to look after our sheep and our lambs which God has given to us.

Peace Be With You: The week after Easter is usually a quiet time for the clergy as they have a break after the Easter services. This year has been slightly different as I have had a number of pastoral calls to local hospitals to see parishioners and another one to Cranmer House – all the parishioners were seriously ill and glad to see me.

Easter Sunday: We believe that during the recent earth earthquake to hit the UK, reading 4.8 on the Richter scale, that the Reredos of this Church was cracked – it may not have been a major earthquake which announced the arrival of the angel to roll away the stone of the tomb but it certainly shook this Church...
