  Thought for the Week
We publish a weekly 'podcast' and written commentary on issues affecting our community, both here in Fakenham and throughout the world.
.
  Sermons: Audio and Text
'Godcasting' has become one of the most popular elements of a 'new style' of church website. We have embraced this concept on our new website and offer here our sermons in text and audio format for you to experience in the comfort of your own home.
.
  Community Blog
Our blog is our 'interactive tool' to the community. Through our online blog we will explore a range of issues and provide you with the opportunity to respond with your thoughts and comments. We hope that this will become a place where people of our community, both locally and internationally, can come and express their points of view in a safe and secure environment.
.
  Articles and Editorials
Our articles and commentaries are offered to our online visitors as a way to explore different and perhaps fresh perspectives on what happens around us on a regular basis, both in church and within our communities.
.
  Online Photo Gallery
We have a range of photographs available to view on our Online Photo Gallery. If you wish, you may purchase copies - all proceeds will go directly to supporting our work within the local community.

Fakenham Parish Church - "Serving the Community"

                Flower Festival: A Victorian Experience
As you approach the busy market town of Fakenham you are greeted by the massive 115ft Parish Church Tower which dominates the town. Fakenham Church was founded in the 14th Century and since that time it has an exciting history. Scarred by the reformation, housing gunpowder during the Civil War, and restored by the Victorians, it was nearly destroyed by a stray Luftwaffe bomb in 1940 during Second World War.

Today it is the centre of a thriving congregation, ‘Serving the community’. Open everyday of the year the Church welcomes many thousands of visitors each year,  also as a Diocesan ‘Gateway Church’ it helps visitors to enjoy the towns and the surrounding glorious Norfolk coast.

As a historic chartered market town, Fakenham comes alive on Thursdays and on Farmers’ Markets when many market traders descended upon the town and the Church becomes a hive of activity.

However at the heart of the Church is the worship of Almighty God and anyone visiting the Church will soon realise that it has been loved and cherished by many generations in the past and today is reaching out to a new generation with a full programme of services and activities throughout the year. Let us know what you think of our new website by completing a comments form on our new blog.

Do you know any holy places, e.g. St Julian’s Chapel in Norwich? Have you ever felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in a holy place? Such a place is the Saxon round towered church at the end of my road, 2 miles from my house. Why do I say it’s a holy place? Well, go there and see for yourself. Numerous Christians have felt it ... It was with great sadness that I read in the times newspaper that an Indian girl of 16 took her life because she was frightened by the outcome of events in Switzerland with the CERN project. She was not alone - thousands of people around the world ate their last meal, started to pray or were fasting when the experiment began.... [more]
