The Mothers’ Union in Fakenham is part of the worldwide Mothers’ Union. We are a Christian organisation concerned with all that affects family life. In Fakenham we have afternoon and occasional evening meetings.
Members are part of the regular Sunday worship as leaders, readers, intercessors and helping with Young Church and Youth work. We are involved with Stepping Stones, Messy Church and numerous other Church activities. We provide Worship sacks for younger children to use during Sunday morning services.
For baptisms in the main morning Sunday service the Mothers’ Union provides a cake with the child’s name on, this is a time of celebration for everyone.
We also give a gift to the teenagers of the church who are leaving us to go to University or onto further education to show our support for their futures.
We also raise money for other Mothers’ Union funds distributed by our head office at Mary Sumner House.
Forthcoming Meetings and Events 2020
Mothers’ Union meetings are open to all. You do not have to be a member of the MU to attend meetings and support our work. Our afternoon meetings are on the second Tuesday of each month and start at 2.00pm with our time of worship in the side chapel of the Parish Church before moving to the comfort of the Trinity Room. We have occasional Evening meetings. These start at 7.30pm and are not always in the Trinity Room.
We love to welcome visitors so please join us at any meeting.
Corporate Communion
Our corporate Communion is on the third Thursday of every month at 9.30am, and we stay for coffee afterwards.
