Many thanks to everyone who contributed to the Harvest Supper & Festival, especially the Fakenham Ukes. Around 60 people enjoyed the evening of music and food with the Grand Draw results. In all, £1,100 was raised for the church.
Coffee at the Crossroads
In August, we held our Coffee at the Crossroads. This fête in the churchyard and inside the church is a great occasion and one at which friends, old and new, meet. On a beautiful sunny day the church was filled with sounds of the harp and singing by Alan Heath. There were stalls, crafts, tombola, raffle, free refreshments, Project Linus, sewn items, baked good, jams and fresh produce. Thanks to everyone who helped make Coffee at the Crossroads a success. £653 was raised for the church, and other charity and craft stalls also were able to raise monies.
The Purcell School Impulse Outreach Team were in North Norfolk in June, performing and leading workshops in local schools, as well as giving community concerts.
It is an ideal opportunity to introduce someone you love to live, unamplified music, performed at the highest standard by professional musicians of the future in all sorts of styles from classical to pop, jazz to musical theatre. The students make special arrangements themselves of pieces to suit the make up of the ensemble.
Audiences always come away from these concerts buzzing at the brilliance of the teenagers. The trip to Norfolk is part of their training to become educators and performers, and to enthuse young people into thinking about learning an instrument or composing.
The arts can be the poor relation in education and we are grateful to Alison Cox OBE for bringing her students on this annual trip to Norfolk.

As always, the Purcell School concert was very well attended and the performance was of the usual exceptionally high standard.
