Confirmation is an important sacrament when we re-affirm our baptism vows and become a full member of the church. Following Diocesan policy we baptise from 11 years of age, and there is no upper limit.
Confirmation Services are taken by one of our Bishops and usually take place in the Parish Church or in Norwich Cathedral. Before Confirmation a 10 week training course is undertaken, which includes all the basic teaching of the church and an understanding of the Bible. Currently we use the Emmaus Course.
The Rector is organising a confirmation course after Easter 2012. It is important to see Confirmation as a part of your journey in faith in Christ and not in isolation. This is a good way to explore your faith with others who are wanting to be confirmed, and is a safe place to ask any questions you have about God, Jesus and the journey of faith. If you are interested in joining the course please contact the Parish Office 01328 862268 or email@example.com.
Confirmation Prayer (ASB)
Almighty and ever-living God,
you have given these your servants new birth
in baptism by water and the Spirit,
and have forgiven them all their sins.
Let your Holy Spirit rest upon them:
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding;
the Spirit of counsel and inward strength;
the Spirit of knowledge and true godliness;
and let their delight be in the fear of the Lord.
