Evening service of Holy Communion
Mothering Sunday 10.30am
Eucharistic family service for all God’s children celebrating the best of family life.
Holy Week – Compline daily at 6.30pm
During these quiet evening services, sung by the choir, we read a “Passion Narrative” – the story of Jesus’ last days and the events surrounding his death – in nightly instalments.
Usually an evening celebration of Holy Communion in addition to the usual Thursday market day morning communion.
Good Friday at 10.30am Easter Holiday Workshop the telling of the Easter Story using art, crafts, music, and drama with ‘Open The Book’ story. finishing with Hot Cross Buns and an Easter Egg Hunt.
Good Friday at 2.00pm “The Last Hour”
A meditation for choir and congregation.
Easter Day – Festival Family Communion at 10.30am
The great celebration of the Resurrection
An evening celebration of Holy Communion in addition to the usual Thursday market day morning communion.
Harvest – usually 3rd Sunday in September
Non-eucharistic family service at 10.30am celebrating God’s amazing generosity and all his gifts.
“The Resurrection Hope” – All Saints’ Sunday at 3.00pm
A special service for the bereaved during which loved ones are remembered by name. God’s love and comfort is offered to all.
Town Service of Remembrance – Remembrance Sunday at 2.30pm
Following the parade and Act of Remembrance with laying of wreaths at the War Memorial in the Market Place the Town Service is held in the Parish Church.
Christmas Tree Festival Service 10.30am on the CTF Sunday.
An all-inclusive family service for all involved in the Festival, whether from church, town and charities or just visiting.
“Celebrating Christ the King” A new service this year 26th November 2017 at 6.30pm
What sort of King is Jesus Christ?
What makes this King good news?
Come and look for answers as we discover five aspects of Christ the King through music, prayer and readings.
“From Darkness to Light” A candlelit procession for Advent 6.30pm
Advent Sunday evening, unless this coincides with the Christmas Tree Festival when it will be either the week before or the week after. The service comprises a mystical exploration of Christ’s coming. It includes hymns, readings and choir items for the season.
Carol Service – Sunday before Christmas at 6.30pm.
A fairly traditional service of lessons and carols, with choir items included.
Christingle Service – This year there will be a Christingle Service on 11th December 2016 at 4.00pm
Always very popular. The collection is given to The Children’s Society.
Crib Service – 3.30pm Christmas Eve
Christmas Midnight Communion – 11.30pm on Christmas Eve.
